The most recent presentation of the work was Grid Can of Sardines (2026), a digital black-and-white immersive exhibition at Thin Slizzy, Melbourne. This followed a two-year engagement with Alchemy Studios, Sydney, through the recurring group photographic exhibition Friends of Alchemy Studios: the 2025 iteration presented giclée prints from the Watch Ikebana series, while the 2024 iteration comprised large-format black-and-white Polaroid prints.

Earlier work is represented by Monstre de Béton (2023), a series of 135 and 120 format black-and-white works produced through traditional darkroom printing processes, exhibited concurrently at Revolver Upstairs, Melbourne, and Alchemy Studios, Sydney. The series was accompanied by a feature 16mm black-and-white short film, shot and edited in-house.

Roland Argent is currently developing several new exhibition and creative project series, working across both new and established mediums. Among these is Anxious Toaster, a rebuttal to the familiar act of waiting on the toast — hovering, watching, anticipating. Here, the dynamic is inverted: the toaster is brought to the artist, and it is the toaster that now waits.
